Terms of Use

1. Scope

By downloading and using Memki you accept these terms. The app is published by Bektaş Uçan (Studio Lunora). If you do not accept the terms, please do not use the app.

2. Licence to use

We grant you a non-transferable right to use Memki for personal, non-commercial learning. Reverse engineering, redistributing copies, or bulk-extracting the content into another product falls outside this right.

3. Free tier and Memki Pro

Kana and all of level N5 are free; a taster set from every level is also open, and the free tier introduces 20 new cards per day. Memki Pro is a one-time purchase: it removes the daily new-card limit and unlocks all levels. It is not a subscription and does not auto-renew.

4. Payment, refunds and restore

Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are governed by that store's rules. Refunds are handled by the store; we cannot take payment or issue refunds on the store's behalf. Your purchase is tied to the store account you used and does not transfer between platforms; with the same account you can use “Restore purchases”.

5. Content and sources

Dictionary and kanji data come from the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group's JMdict and KANJIDIC projects, used under CC BY-SA 4.0. Cards you create are yours; we claim no rights over them.

6. Responsibility for your data

Study data is kept on your device. We are not responsible for data loss caused by a lost device, app deletion, or the operating system. We recommend using the backup option regularly.

7. Warranty and limitation of liability

Memki is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, nor any particular exam result. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect damages, and our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the app.

8. Changes and termination

We may update these terms; the current version is always published on this page with its date. We may end your right to use the app if it is used in breach of these terms. You may end it at any time by deleting the app.

Data

Data deletion request

Memki has no accounts and never uploads your study data, so there are two separate cases:

Your study dataDeleting the app removes it — cards, progress, streak and settings all live on the device. You can also reset from Settings → Collection → Your data. No approval from us is needed.
Analytics and support emailTo have these deleted, email support@memkiapp.com with the subject “Data deletion request”. We complete requests within 30 days and confirm in writing. No identity documents are needed — there is no account to verify.
